FREE! In-Person or Remote Workshop

Working with aging populations comes with inherent challenges. This workshop will focus on some of those challenges, as well as ways to recognize needs and risk factors specific to elders such as common health issues, diagnoses, family involvement, and life phase trends. Risk factors such as depression, anxiety, low social supports, and underlying mental health symptoms will be outlined. Further, the workshop will provide an overview of treatment and care options, and connect different levels of treatment to clinical needs faced by the aging. Participants will learn the unique role of clinicians working in elder care, social work skill sets geared towards this population, and best care practices.

Aynisa Leonardo is a Licensed Clinical Art Therapist and the Vice President of Clinical Outreach at Water Gap Wellness. She has concentrated on advanced clinical education, locally and nationally, providing evidence-based and interactive presentations for treatment facilities, non-profits, and corporate agencies, to raise awareness on current trends, reduce the stigma associated with accessing care, and improve collaboration within the healthcare community. She also founded Military Resilience Foundation in 2013, providing holistic and community-based events in the community for veterans and first responders.

This presentation is appropriate for: clinical professionals, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and social workers.
