When Meditation Just Isn't Cutting It: A Holistic & Functional Approach to Anxiety Reduction and Nervous System Regulation

NEW - 2 CE Virtual Workshop!

While we all know that meditation and breathwork can have powerful effects on anxiety reduction and nervous system regulation, what do you do when a client comes to you either in full blown panic and can’t calm down or tells you they feel worse after meditating?

In this 2 hour interactive workshop, we will dive into various tools and techniques to help your clients learn how to ground and be present in their body, especially when meditation and slow focused breathing feels ineffective. We will cover exercises that can be used both during acute panic as well as long term over time to help lower high anxiety baselines. And I promise we aren’t talking about things like holding ice or go for a walk. We are going to dive into the neurology of anxiety and how to address it from a brain-training perspective. In addition, we will discuss the latest cutting edge devices that are being used to help reduce anxiety as well as holistic & functional medicine approaches to heal anxiety at the root cause.

ELYSE D. SCHUNKEWITZ, LCSW is a holistic and functional psychotherapist with a clinical license in four states. Her practice blends conventional psychotherapy with over a decade of being both a student and teacher of functional neuroscience & medicine, somatic therapies, nutrition, and fitness in order to help clients balance their nervous systems, avoid or come off medications, and transform their habits for peak performance. She teaches patients and professionals how to integrate brain and body-based training into lifelong mental wellness, including teaching CEs to the mental health departments of the U.S. Air Force and the NYC Department of Education.

This presentation is appropriate for: clinical professionals, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and social workers.
