OBJECTIVES: After this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Identify and describe key theoretical foundations and historical evolutions of intervention models, including systemic, invitational, and behavioral frameworks.
2. Differentiate between major evidence-based intervention models (e.g., Johnson, Invitational, Family Systems, CRAFT) and determine their appropriate clinical applications.
3. Apply ethical principles (autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice) to complex family and client intervention scenarios, balancing confidentiality, safety, and consent.
4. Demonstrate knowledge of practical strategies to move clients and families from ambivalence to action using Motivational Interviewing, family engagement, and systems coordination.
5. Integrate legal and policy considerations (e.g., Marchman Act, Baker Act, guardianship frameworks) into intervention planning and interprofessional collaboration to enhance client outcomes and reduce liability.
