Advanced Clinical Skills Intensive

This comprehensive training will focus on evidence-based intervention models, ethical considerations in crisis response, the complexities of mental health and substance use disorders, and collaborative care strategies across disciplines. Participants will engage in expert-led presentations, interactive case discussions, and real-world applications relevant to high-acuity clinical settings.

This presentation is appropriate for: clinical professionals, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and social workers.

OBJECTIVES: After this intensive event, you will be able to:

1. Apply advanced intervention and engagement strategies in behavioral health settings.

2. Integrate treatment approaches for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

3. Evaluate ethical and clinical decision-making in high-acuity cases.

Session 1: Applied Intervention Techniques

1. Identify core components of effective interventions.

2. Demonstrate strategies to engage resistant individuals.

3. Apply intervention techniques to case scenarios.

Session 2: Rethinking Interventions for Co-Occurring Eating Disorders & Substance Use: Challenges, Approaches, and Real-World Decision Making

1. Recognize clinical presentations of co-occurring disorders.

2. Compare integrated treatment approaches.

3. Develop intervention strategies for dual-diagnosis clients.

Session 3: Working with Treatment Centers in High Acuity Mental Health Cases

1. Identify characteristics of high-acuity cases.

2. Coordinate care with treatment providers.

3. Assess appropriate levels of care.

Session 4: Midday Panel Training

1. Analyze complex clinical scenarios.

2. Evaluate multidisciplinary approaches.

3. Apply insights to real-world practice.

Session 5: Family Dynamics and Owning Our Responses

1. Identify dysfunctional family patterns.

2. Apply strategies to improve family engagement.

3. Manage clinician responses within family systems.

Session 6: Nursing and Case Management Strategies

1. Understand nursing roles in behavioral health.

2. Implement effective case management practices.

3. Ensure compliance with care standards.

Session 7: Clinical Dynamics, Ethics, and Family Systems in High-Acuity Cases

1. Identify ethical dilemmas in clinical practice.

2. Apply ethical decision-making frameworks.

3. Evaluate the impact of family systems on treatment outcomes.
