Get To Know Shine Continuing Education
Jumana G. Murphy, LCSW, CASAC-G
Prior to establishing private practice, I worked as the Clinical Outreach Manager at Freedom Institute, a nationally renowned outpatient chemical dependency center. Before this, I worked as the Director of Substance Abuse Prevention Programs at Phoenix House, where I also facilitated relapse prevention and process groups, both with adolescents and adults.
I earned my master’s degree from Hunter College School of Social Work. Since the beginning of my career in social work I’ve been employed in a variety of settings offering care and treatment to numerous populations, including: affluent families and individuals, at-risk youth, needy families, developmentally disabled, chemically dependent, mentally ill, physically disabled, homeless, juvenile justice, foster care, etc.
I’ve found that my passion is in working with people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use, and/or with those who struggle with self-esteem. I am excellent at helping people develop coping skills, handling difficult relationship issues, and exploring anxiety, depression and meanings behind addictive behaviors.
Besides individual psychotherapy, I facilitate a family support group for Alumni and Family Members of Sierra Tucson Treatment Center.
